Julie McClure bigger
In February of 2015, Julie M. Bigger, CFP®, GPHR® founded Cypress Business Consulting with the intention of offering financial & operational support to entrepreneurs & growth stage companies who need expert guidance without the cost of full-time hires.
With over 23 years of experience overseeing financial operations, for small to mid-sized businesses, nonprofits, and growth-stage companies, Julie brings deep expertise in business strategy, financial forecasting & AOP design, accounting, employee benefits/payroll, cash flow management, and the design & implementation of scalable financial processes.
Julie holds a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and is both a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR®). She began her career in wealth management as a financial planner and investment portfolio manager before moving into operational finance roles.
From 2006 to 2012, Julie served as Director of Finance for Headwaters School in Austin, where she built and led the school’s finance, HR, and accounting functions as the organization grew from one campus and 23 employees to three campuses and nearly 100 employees. She later worked with Jesse James, founder of West Coast Choppers, to help launch and scale Jesse James Firearms Unlimited, a successful Austin-based manufacturing venture.
Since launching Cypress, Julie has served in key roles including Controller at Tenfold, HotSchedules (now part of Fourth), and Texas Monthly magazine, as well as Chief Financial Officer for Freedom Solar Power.
When not working, Julie is most often outside or learning something new. She enjoys yoga & pilates, running outside, cooking & trying new foods, reading, and spending time with friends & family. A lifelong traveler, she also enjoys exploring the world with her family and has studied and volunteered abroad in much of Latin America. Julie’s current passion is discovering Portugal.
